What to expect of your appointment in our office:

 Scheduling Appointments

Our office policy requires that a current referral and authorization is on file with our office before we can schedule an appointment. We do not accept walk-in patients at this time. Office visits are categorized as a consult, new patient, post-op, a procedure or surgery, or a follow up visit which is focused on a specific symptom. When you call to schedule an appointment, our scheduling staff is required to designate your visit as one of these types. We strive to get appointments within a week. for pressing medical concerns. Scheduling a procedure with our physicians is done by staff in the office. New patients, please allow approximately 15 minutes for paperwork completion prior to your scheduled appointment. New patient consults are scheduled for 30 minutes or can be up to 60 minutes depending on the diagnosis; all other types are scheduled for 15 minutes.

Preparing to see the Doctor
Depending on your visit type, administrative tasks may take 15-30 minutes. If you arrive 15 minutes or more later than the time you were asked to arrive, you may be asked to reschedule your appointment for another day.

Follow-Up Appointments & Tests/Procedures
You will come in for an appointment with your surgeon to talk about your recovery and to answer any further questions you may have. Our staff will encourage you to schedule your appointment before you leave, and you will receive a reminder call 24 hours before your appointment. If you decide not to schedule your appointment when you leave, you are responsible for making your next appointment.

On the Day of Surgery-- Parkway Surgery Center
The check in area for Parkway Surgery Center is the same check in area as the main office. After you have checked in, a nurse will take you back to the waiting room. Your surgeon, a pre-op nurse and an anesthesiologist (if required) will then individually verify your surgery with you and answer any new questions. Once their visits with you are completed, you will be taken to the operating room where your surgery will take place. After your procedure, you will be evaluated by one of the recovery nurses.
